Every day, one thousand children die, mostly in Southern hemisphere, due to lack of water and water borne diseases. Several hundred adults and elderly die of water poverty each day too. As the world quietly let the World Water Day on March 22 go by, the grave situation hasn't changed much for over two decades since the inception of the event.
Over 2 billion people, predominantly in developing countries, suffer from lack of potable drinking water. You can help. Start conserving water at home and at office. Fix leakages wherever you see them in whatever way you can. Embrace water modesty - why hose your car down? why keep the tap on while brushing or shaving? There are hundreds of ways of helping.
Would you start today? Somewhere in the future, one child could be saved thanks to your efforts today.
