The Rebel in You

There is a rebel in everyone. As a teenager I rebelled against every thing that I was asked to comply. Tearing a one rupee note, breaking late night curfew at home, reading a comic book when it was time to study for exams, and so on; several acts of rebellion will form a typical story in anyone's life. Where does the rebel go? What does the rebel do? How do one manage the rebel? It may perhaps seem like it is a tough proposition to handle for the parents when they have to deal with a rebellious teenager at home. But what about the rebel himself? Wouldn't it be most difficult for the rebel to manage himself. He has to manage his own expectations and handle breaking the rules and control stretching the limits of the rules he was supposed to be bound to. A jugglery act it seems to me.

As one ages the rebel continues to raise his head more than once to remind one that he still needs managing. Do we rebel for the right reasons? For the right principles? For the right causes? For the right people? For the right time? For the right methods?

Why should I control my rebel or even guide him?

The rebel in me asks. Who is the me? Who is the rebel? If I know the difference I would surely control him, wouldn't I?
