Silva Method of Mental House Cleaning

My classes with my son is continuing as promised; one session a day.

Positive statements will bring positive results. Negative orientation will bring overwhelmingly negative effects. Silva developed a method called ‘Mental house cleaning’ to overcome negative self programming. The technique particularly focus on removing:

1) Negative words
2) Negative pictures

When you hold images and words they begin to function as mental programs. Figures of speech can program your body. ‘Mr. X gives me a pain in the neck.’ - can make you wake up in pain in the neck one day. ‘She makes me sick’ – can cause you to open door to sickness. These words get programmed into your mental computer. Your mind has no critical thinking of its own. It cannot select between good and bad. It simply obeys your orders. It takes you at your words and does best to accommodate you.

Each time they appear in your mind, you must replace negative patterns with positive frames by using the words ‘Cancel, Cancel’. You immediately replace the pattern with positive pictures. Use words as a compass to point to positive direction you want to go.

List all negative thoughts and in an opposite column write down positive, alternate words. Concentrate on positive programming and reaffirm. Claim the new quality as your own emphatically. Everyday work on one thought at a time.

You can also use visualization and imagination practices for creating a mental screen. Once the mental images alter in the spiritual dimension it begins to take shape in physical dimension. It is the foundation on which all things emerge. Everything existed in the form of thought before it took a physical form. If you have already seen it you visualize it. Otherwise you imagine it.

Mental energy can only attract – it is an attracting energy.

Use it for your success. I have been using a similar process to do my mental house cleaning during my silence days. Therefore Silva’s suggested modus operandi didn’t seem difficult or new to me. But the ‘Cancel, Cancel’ techniques worked magic for me yesterday when during my silence day. I have been having many useless mental images from my childhood. They would often interrupt my concentration. I have tried various techniques to get rid of them from my system. Some of the images left my system but a few remained. These were images that I had created as an escape route during my earlier days. I did undergo certain difficult situations due to various circumstances. These images stuck on. But, yesterday after I kept repeating the words, ‘cancel, cancel’ whenever these images interrupted me, and by end of the day these images had either completely vanished or move away quickly as soon as they appear in my mind. I am much more peaceful today thanks to a simple practice Achyuthan has introduced to me.

There was another experiment that I underwent with greater success. More about it later.
