Three little stories

The ultimate Sacrifice.

The vulture had casually watched as a fruit from that free fell down. A wild goat ate it and died. Its flesh tasted good.
This saintly looking man who came by was looking at the fallen goat and the vulture gorging bits of it, with great compassion. Did he understand its great hunger? Did he know how the goat had met its end?
God, is that another fruit being brought down by the breeze?
Vultures do not eat fruit.
But this one swooped down on the fruit and devoured it. And fell dead.
The man was in tears. He understood the ultimate sacrifice.

I see Him now.

The newborn child opened its eyes looking for Him. The eyes went all around. No, He was not to be found.
A charcha ensued between the eyes and the child’s soul. He could not be found in the charcha.
The helpful stranger holding the child picked up a mask of Sri Krishna and showed it to the child. The child looked beyond. ‘Mother’ playfully put the mask gently on the face.
The child did not find Him in the mask. But it gave a smile of encouragement.
‘Mother’ put out her palms and gently pressed the temples of the child in affectionate admiration. ‘Not there’, thought the child. ‘Anyway I cannot look at my temples.’
‘Not in the charcha, your mask or my temples!’ The child closed its eyes. ‘I see Him now!’

Charcha- a warm discussion, dispute.

The little Drop on the Leaf

The little drop asks itself. Why am I settling on this leaf, instead of sliding down and getting into the soil so that the root will pick me up along with soil minerals for the nourishment of this plant, including this leaf?
The leaf overhears the drop. It moves gently in the wind, so as not to dislodge the drop.
It whispers, 'You came to me, precious drop, not to exhibit your own glory, but to help me in a special way. Like a lens you concentrate the solar light for me, so that the cells directly below you work more profitably than their brothers! The sun's heat gently evaporates you, and a part of you I gather into myself, as lovely water vapour, to do my food synthesis with, more efficiently!'
